Depending on the type, they probably will breed.

You need to have a lot of caves and plants so they can establish their own territorys before they will mate. 9 chiclids is a little cramped for mating in a 40 gallon. you may only want to put in 2 pairs. Basically the happy they are, the quicker they will breed.

Cichlids are good parents and will stay with their mate and look after their children. It's really interesting to watch.

Why do you ask these questions over and over again if you aren't willing to listen?

Once again, it depends on the type of cichlid you have as every species has different breeding requirements. If you don't know any more about the cichlids you have, then no one can help you... or at least give you a -helpful- answer.

basically be arranged for the parents usually aggressive habit. interior the keep I artwork in, we had a pair of black convicts kill their ten different tank friends in an attempt to maintain their fry risk-free. In yet another tank a Jack Dempsey killed her male (final) and 3 different tank friends to guard her fry. yet another set paired up yet produced no fry, it became a collection of pink jeweled cichlids and that they only about massacred their tank. Others, one is orange and that i'm unsure what she is, basically had a batch, she is a mouth brooder, unsure of suitable time era. yet she carried hers in her mouth. We desperate against attempting to strip them ans allowed her to hold them to time era. She confirmed little to no intrest in them as they have been released and he or she's already been remoted so her tank friends weren't a project. those varieties are by utilising far easir to reproduce, ones like those above lay eggs and are problematical to advance with the parents. maximum suitable of luck!
