Discovery of agriculture, without it..

The people that discovered the polishing tools would have died before they could try them.

The people making the huts would have been to tired to make them, or have died shortly after making them due to starvation.

The world wouldn't have discovered rotary motion, they'd still be busy trying to figure out to grow their own food.

Chad is correct, but the main reason isn't as he states. The discovery/development of agriculture made possible the development and evolution of social organization---i.e.Civilization.
Before agriculture, human society was based upon hunting and gathering, and this is a very inefficient method of obtaining nourishment----------frequently more calories must be expended than are gained. This precludes any advance in society-----all the energy that exists is spent on simply continuing to exist, a noble goal but not one to define as progress.
