I experienced that!! (a few weeks ago)

It could be a "low lying placenta" or "placenta previa" .. I had this!
I started bleeding bright red blood at 15 weeks .. went to the ER (hystrical, because I thought I was losing my baby) .. they did an ultrasound, baby was perfect and the bleeding was because I have a "low lying placenta". I then (for 4 weeks) continued spotting brown. It does not affect the baby whatsoever. The doctor said 96% of people who have a "low-lying" placenta in early pregnancy will clear itself up and will be perfect by full term and will have a normal vaginal delivery. Worse case scenerio is that if the placenta doesn't move up (from your uterus expanding as your tummy grows) .. then in that 4% you will have to have a c-section. But you will still have a healthy baby :)
I just (last week) went in for my 20 week ultrasound .. and no more low-lying placenta!! it's completely normal!! no spotting .. nothing! it was as if I never had it :)
I've known SEVERAL women who had this (some spotted, some didn't) and EVERY one of them cleared up by term and deliverd their babies vaginally! It's so very common in early pregnancy. Don't stress about it. I stressed myself retarted when it happend to me. I'm now 21 weeks pregnant with a very healthy baby boy!
Hang in there .. and relax :)

OR .. if it's not the "low-lying placenta" .. you CAN spot after sex! perfectly normal!

NOT CRAMPING IS A GOOD SIGN!!! and brown blood is OLD BLOOD .. that's a good sign too! :)

good luck! God bless!

you should always keep an eye on these things but to me it sounds likie just normal early pregn. spotting. Everyone i know who's been/are pregnant, had some spotting in the first and second trimester...some even had heavy period like bleeding (if you do, go straight to the hospital though) without miscarrying! I had a few situations, esp in the first trimester, but it was all normal, just body getting used to everyhting changing but i did worry and went to a&e three times and had internals, felt like a right muppet every time as it was all fine but they were always nice and it is better to be safe than sorry! Hope this helps

Miscarriage would be unlikely especially if the bleeding was that light and has since stopped. Im not intruding but when I bled one of the first questions the maternity unit asked me was if id had sex the day before (i hadnt and told them so) but they said they were asking as this is a very common cause of bleeding in pregnancy. Apparently our cervix is much more sensitive and sex can cause bleeding. Obviously this is something for you to bear in mind if you had sex. If not then id call my doctor/midwife and ask for an appointment to discuss it with them. Goodluck x x

You need to call your doctor and let them know what has happened, if they see cause for concern they may want to see you immediately.
However if you have been sick, with a cough, or urinary infection it may just be that your cervix is irritated and has caused the spotting. Also if you have had sex in the last couple of days, this too will bring about the blood and discharge.
Good luck

I had spotting at week 6 & it was nothing. Being that yours was so minimal & brown, it's probably nothing. But please call your Dr.
Your pains could be from the ligaments starting to stretch. That's about when my pains started (I'm 18 weeks now).

When in doubt call the dr. At the very least, you'll hear the heartbeat & maybe get another picture for the scrap book!

If you were earlier than twelve weeks I would say that it was a possible miscarriage. But most of them happen before twelve weeks. Did you have an exam that may have caused the bleeding? In any case call your OBGYN.

I agree that this is probably nothing, but ask your doctor anyway. Be sure you are taking a good prenatal vitamin with folic acid to prevent nueral tube defects. Right at this point of your pregnancy is when that happens. Good luck!!

that's usually frightening to have any variety of bleeding in being pregnant and clearly you're worried having miscarried in the previous. many women folk human beings have a sprint recognizing in early being pregnant, usually by way of hormones wanting time to cool down. there is often no longer something to rigidity approximately if it subsides by utilising itself as you have defined. besides the incontrovertible fact that that is rather significant to get regarded at if the bleeding will improve, turns into mind-blowing pink, or you're experiencing any belly soreness or fever. optimistically all is definitely, and your well-being practitioner will reassure you.

It is probably nothing, but call and ask your doctor. It is better to be safe than sorry. When I was about 20 weeks I had a bit of bleeding and it was nothing.
