For one the world was never a perfect place. My parents and there parents had bad experiences and would tell you the world is and was not perfect. On the other hand I know what you mean about kids these days and how they treat others. It's all about the mighty dollar and who can get more materialistic things from their parents. Then the parents get sick of listening to their rude and disrespectful children(they raised) so they hand over whatever they want. I would like to thank those parents. I also like the parents that say well my kids do so well in school and havn't gotten in trouble so I give them the credit card the cell phone(with unlimited services)and the car to drive. I had to get good grades and stay out of trouble or I would be going to military school. I was also raised by a wonderful mother who gave me her time and love so I respected her. Parents these days are too busy for their kids.

The world has never been perfect but when you had to work for everything you recieved including youth there was much more gratitude. The trouble with today is that most people at least in North America get everything handed to them for little or no effort. This produces greed and envy. I think this is soon to end with the LOrd's coming. At least I hope so!

Only technology has changed! Not people, we are the same as every generation before us. If you look in the Bible at Luke 12:15 Jesus warns about covetousness. As a mater of fact, it is talked about all through the Bible starting with the Ten Commandments. You may think that people used to be different but when you take a close look, you will see that feelings and desires have brought about the same actions from us in all of history.

it's because some of this new generation are running a combination of the yuppie culture without the work ethic while living in the poor ghettos and parents homes who are barely making ends meet

it's called living "ghettofabulous" these days meaning you drive a 20k lexus and live in a slummy housing project as they drive that great ride.....

i believe it is stemming from2 major causes

1.) some parents are spoiling their kids with material wealth beyond the parent's means of doing so

2.) the other reason is because people buy those expensive products the corporate america is trying to make it's money by producing and advertising for those products

hope that helped

Because Baby Boomer Parents feel they were to constrained by their parents. So the Baby Boomers will give more material items, freedoms and lack of disipline to their kids (Generation X) who in turn use those ideals to ignore their childen and let the material items and freedoms rear the kids. More disposable money has also contributed to this. And the need to work.

When?

This generation's grandparents (parents from the 60s/70s) were and are a mess. They had zero respect, spoiled, and never grew up. We grew up with self-centered anti-parents who continue to live out their 50s childhood. When we had children they interfered and disrespected our generation beyond belief especially when children wanted out of responsibility including buying their love - instead of spending time with them. I thank God to-date my grandparents weren't so careless when grand-parenting me. They spent time with us and gave us things only on birthdays and holidays which my parents banked and spent not needing one penny of it.

We now have to deal with young adult parents who are jealous of their own children...it's horrible and today's parents live in the moment attempting to control everyone around them. They are obsessed with image so much they end up self-destructing. Our generation wants to spend time with our grandchildren and are against spoiling. We've been through child-like parents and had to raise our children in the 80s so addiction to material goods is not as wide spread. It seems we are sandwiched between two spoiled generations the elder generation being in office at present helping children get away with things and still using them to make money. This generation of 20-30s is very angry and has a hard time focusing.

I also think lack of structure in the public schools has something to do with this. When I went to school they still had enforcement and parents weren't expected to take the blame for any inappropriate behavior as they are today. Most of them would have ignored it anyways. A child skips -around here anyways- the child is picked up by the police but the parents end up in trouble. It's all about money.

Because they are no different than the generations that proceeded them. The only difference is that there or more things to crave for now.
