I even moved my alarm across the room , and I still hit the snooze button for an hour.

You sound like me, hun. At least when I don't get enough sleep. You need to get at least eight hours, seven at the very least. You could possibly need even more.

Because I'm a stay at home mom that keeps everyone else's schedule going, I can't get a straight eight hours. Ever. So, I have to compromise and get several "naps" at night rather than all at once during the week, and sleep for straight, refreshing 10 hour nights on the weekends. Most of the time it all balances out, but it can be rough getting up at 6am when I just put my head down at 2am.

I have a few suggestions for you:

If possible, go to sleep one hour earlier than normal. This honestly makes a lot of difference.

Get at least three alarms with different sounds...I have dual alarms on my clock across the room (one set for the buzzer, and the other set for radio) and the alarm is set on my cell phone right by my ear..."Ding Dong the Witch is Dead!" gets my attention every time. LOL Generally, any repetitive alarms are default to go off every 9 minutes, so stagger them to go off every 3-5 minutes so you have less of a chance to drift off inbetween. Nine minutes is plenty of time to get back into a deep sleep cycle.

If you have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep, there are several things to consider...

Is your mattress comfortable and easy on your back?

Is the temperature in your room comfortable? (Remember, when you sleep your blood pressure may drop a little and make you cold. Conversely, some people breathe easier in a cool room. Just be sure it's comfortable for YOU.)

What were you doing the hour before sleep? Watching TV or being on the computer will stimulate your eyes and your brain, and will take longer to calm down. Turn them off, listen to the radio, and read a book. This will get your mindset towards relaxing and sleep.

I know this is a bit long, but I hope it helps.

Good night and Blessings

ME TOO!!!

I've tried two alarm clocks. Moving the alarm clock across the room. The latest thing I've tried is putting the alarm on radio, at the highest volume, on static. That works well.

What also works is having a talk with myself before I go to sleep. I tell myself "OK...you have to get up early tomorrow. Don't hit the snooze button. You can't hit the snooze button. Just get up and take a shower. You have a lot of things to do. Remember you have to get up early." I also try and have everything ready the night before. My outfit, my son's things, my lunch/snacks for the next day...that way I feel prepared. This helps.

Good luck! I've never been an early bird and something tells me I never will be : /

Before you go to bed, lay out your clothing for the next morning. When the alarm goes off, instead of hitting snooze, grab your clothes and get in the shower.
You are the only thing stopping you from getting up in the morning. Maybe you need to start going to bed earlier or something.

Hello,

How many hours are you sleeping? Do you exercise properly?
What kind of job do you have?

To make a full assesment I need all those questions answered but if you want to wake up in time no matter how much you sleep buy camu camu and give it a try. It is a fruit that helps your body depending on its needs.

For example: if you are tired but you got plenty of sleep it will wake you up.

If you have not sleep and are restless when trying to go to sleep it will make you go to sleep.

If you are sleeping and your alarm goes off after an nice 5 or 6 hours of sleep you will feel like you got more hours and will aslo feel like ready to start your day.

Camu Camu is a fruit found in the amazon forests in South America but mostly in the Norther part of Peru.
Many companies sell it but I recomend you Amazon Herbs Co. You can get it through the internet they have special when ever you spend more than $50. A small percentage go to help tribes in the area and to buy the land from redeveloper companies destroying the forests at alarming rates.

I myself buy it from a close friend because working as a Security Supervisor and loans on the side need this fruit to keep me going. Lately I have been pulling 12 hours shifts and 3-5 hours extra in loans and thanks to Camu camu I don't feel dead!!!

here is the site I get it from in case you want to give it a try.

Good luck and hope you get a good sleep so you don't have to fight getting up!!

Buy an alarm clock that shuts off after 2 snoozes. That's what I had to do - and the terror of me not waking up for work b/c of the alarm gets me up in the morning.

Maybe your nightlife is too active (and by that I mean hanging out in clubs, working out late etc. Either way, you might not get enough sleep). Or maybe you have a sleeping disorder. You should try drinking some green tea (use sugar too if you can't bare the taste). It allegedly makes you energetic without messing your nervous system like coffee. Try having regular sleeping hours, and try sleeping at least 10 hours/night in the first week. I hope it works!

Im the same way.
I have my clock radio on an entertaing radio program and leave it on for a while. If theres anything exciting to look forward to, I think about that.
When I need to get up from a nap I program my tv to turn on so I don't mess up my alarm.

Get a second alarm clock. Place it on the other end of your room. If no one is going to be disturbed, get one that plays loud music. I'd program it to play loud rock dance music. Pretty much anything that's going to make you get up and dance. when that alarm goes off dance to the music. That shoudl wake you up.

get some BB's and put them in a pitcher in the freezer. Have someone dump them in your bed when the alarm goes off. No matter which way you turn, the BB's will rollup under you. Very uncomfortable and cold! Most anyone will offer to do this to you to watch you jump!
