I lived in Austin for many years and I ate at Threadgills many times. It is a Janis Joplin fans heaven, She used to work there before she got famous and she sang there many times after

I don't have any albums, but I bought "Ball and Chain" from iTunes after seeing her do it on the Monterey Pop Festival DVD. Holy Cow! The way she sings that song!

oh, yeah. she was the greatest. "pearl" was her best album. but the big brother stuff was great too. too bad her light was extinguished so early in her career.
