Your body is just getting ready for that baby. Rest as often as you can. You're building energy to use during labor. It's perfectly normal to be tired mid day or even mid day and early evening. You are in the home stretch. Hang in there! I'm mom to 3 and by the end of my pregnancies I couldn't hardly walk across the floor without being tired and my doctor assured me it was perfectly normal.

I'm 24 weeks and was having the same problem. Last weekend, one night I slept 12 hours then woke up ate some cereal and passed out on the couch for another 2 hours. I've been feeling drained the whole week so I called the doctor. She checked my blood and told me I was low in iron and a bit anemic. That caused the tiredness. She told me to eat more iron rich foods. Now, day 3 of the added iron and I'm feeling a bit better. You may want to check with your doctor incase you're lacking in some vitamin or mineral, also if you have an infection it can drag you down.

I think that the obvious reason is that you are pregnant. You have another being that is absorbing your blood sugar. Also you maybe tired because you sleep too much. I remember that I don't actually feel alert unless I do something. So my advice is try to find some kind of exercise that you can do while you are pregnant. Stay away from coffee though your pregnant.

Totally normal...it's natures way of making you rest before the baby...cause you'll never rest again...lol

Sleep now while you can!!

I have a four month old and I haven't slept in 6 months!!

The heartburn kept me up the last two months...

I think the exhaustion is so that you can stock up on rest and I think the peeing ten times a night is mother natures way of getting us ready for all the night feedings...lol

It's funny how things work huh?

Totally normal - you have an almost full term baby that relies on your energy stores - that takes a lot. Add to the fact that even though your sleeping a long period of time, it's probably not restful sleep because your pregnancy shape and relaxing/sore joints are not letting you get comfortable enough to get to deep sleep.

I have asked and read and came to the conclusion that it's very normal. I am currently 30 weeks and in my first trimester and again now (3rd trimester) can't seem to get enough sleep and seem tired. I had/have a few cousins pregnant as well and they told me the same thing. Early in the pregnany and late in the pregnancy you get very tired and or sleepy. Good luck! Your almost done! LOL

You have a little freeloader on-board. It's normal to be exhausted, all my friends went through varying stages of energy and exhaustion when pregnant. If you can fit it in to your day, try a little nap , even just 15-20 minutes will help.

Eating small snacks can also give you an energy boost.

That happens to me if I sleep too much. I don't know why but more than 7 hours and I'm a mess all day. Try a walk...that seems to make me up.

Nothing is 'wrong with you' my dear ... you're simply 'tired' very naturally because having that 'baby' inside you is 'draining you' and because after the baby is here and 'born' you won't be getting much sleep for awhile, so your body is 'naturally' trying to 'store up' as much sleep as possible ahead of time.

The baby is taking all your carbs and a good amount of your blood, you are probably a little anemic and have no energy cause your baby wants it. Good luck, you'll be tired for a different reason soon!
