why are people vegetiarian? ( only answer if you are )?

thanks. I just wanted to know the different reasons why people don't eat meat. :-)

They think it is wrong to kill animals. (It dosn't matter to me they will die anyway so why not eat meat.)

i've been vegetarian since i was 12ish, and it's mostly because i don't think it's right to take the life away from an innocent creature when we can get by just fine off of fruits, vegetables, etc.

so i'm sort of one to believe that animals have consciences as well, so that makes me think... why is it okay for us to eat living things that can feel emotions? sure, their emotions are certainly more limited than ours, but they have some feelings nonetheless. now this might sound gross, but don't take it the wrong way, because I AM NOT A CANNIBAL, but babies, people in a vegetable state, and people with mental disabilities may not be as emotionally aware as the rest of us. so why is it okay to eat animals but not people like that?

also the way the animals are treated before they're killed for us to eat them is just terrible

so yeah, that's my input!

i am a cured vegetarian, thank you very much. however, i was a vegetarian because of the health benefits. i lost 15 pounds after i quit eating meat.

I dont believe in taking someones life because it tastes good.

Heroin is probably an amazing experience but I know its wrong to start doing it.
