The rubberbands have different colors to represent different things.
Yes, to hold money but it's a representation of the lifestyle and culture of drug-slinging.

It has a deeper meaning than most would think. When a man makes too much money to fit in his wallet he gets a money clip or duh opens a bank account. But when you hustle in the street you cant open a bank account cuz they want to know where you work at and where you get your money from. You don't want to get taxed on drug money do you LOL. And buying money clip is out cuz you make so much you will need like 4 or 5 just to hold what you make in a day. And since the hustlers money is normally small bills holding well over 5-6 hundred in small bills on a money clip is quite hard to do. You can stack your money up and put a rubberband around it. Most hustlers will tell you and quality rap songs will tell you to that you stack them by 100 then put 10 stacks on top to get a wade of 1000. That's why a stack in slang mean 100 bucks and 10 stacks means 1000 bucks.
