If you don't want to do fast food, try babysitting. My sis made a mint from age 12-20 babysitting then nannying. Of course, her fool self spent it all on clothes that she got too fat for & a dumb sports car, but I'm sure you're smarter than that. Save some(15-20%), spend some (up to 75%) & give some (at least 10%). Always have a budget for your money - tell it what to do instead of wondering where it went.

Good Luck!

I am not sure where you are, but here in the UK and probably the US you can not actually have a full time job till you are 16. Before that you HAVE to be in full time education.

At 16 you are issued a National insurance number (or US equivalent) which means you can work full time and on the books (tax wise...)

That aside though, you can do part time and weekend stuff, such as newspaper delivery, flyer posting, signboarding, carwashing, babysitting etc... try writing a note and pinning it up in your local store or other public place and see if anyone responds.

Be very careful when meeting anyone who does reply, and don't go off making appointments with strangers in their homes... just use common sense really.

Sometimes they have family members who can give them jobs for earnings, however it is against the law for 14 year old to hold regular employment. Some younger people find doing work in their community such as: cutting grass, cleaning yards, walking pets and taking out trash for older people very rewarding. In most cases you could earn more doing this than working a regular job, also there are many seniors who are looking for good help.

baby-sitting, cleaning, mowing, edging, weed-eating,errands,garage sale, set up a snow cone stand or something, recycling, painting street addresses on the curb, make pillows and sell them....there are usually a lot of things that need to be done...just look around and see what they are and try to find a way to get paid for doing it. A 14 year old can't work at a regular business because it's illegal(child labor ), but an entrepreneurial 14 year old can usually earn extra cash doing these other things.

Most likely no job will hire you being 14yrs. old but you can volunteer at a local children's hospital, regular hospital, nursing home for no money but it looks good on your resume for future jobs.
