It is, and people rarely realize this. I hate when someone comes up with a racial slur towards someone, and rather than show the person how ignorant they're actually being-or better yet, ignoring them-they stoop down to their level, and discriminate right back. It's so stupid.

**EDIT** And you can clearly see the two-way street of discrimination just by what some people have posted. Ignorance is all around us.

discrimination does not "mill" require power, racism does. Any and everyone discriminates and it's a good thing -- valuable tool even. I for instance favor my child over most others. I discriminate when it comes to the type of car I drive and food I buy and eat. In fact, when it comes to the type of people I have dated and the one I married I discriminated based on race, religion and sexual orientation. I'm not sure I understand the question though. A two way traffic? If you mean that those who are discriminated against also discriminate you're correct.

For discrimination to be such it requires power. Therefore discrimination is predicated of the person/group/ segment of society/etc. that hold power and thus are in the position to shape the established understanding of reality.
If the discriminated against doesn't see it fit to incorportate into his/her rethoric or activities symbols, language and members of the dominant group, this shouldn't be seen as discrimination given the weaker position of the discriminated against.

Every human being has biased thoughts. It's harder now not to, we see it in the media, ie., people that live in the mountains are "rednecks", Jew's sell jewelry, Hispanics are here illegally. It's whether we act on these thoughts or try to discredit them that makes a difference (a lot of Jews don't sell jewelry, and most Hispanics are legals).

Right now it seems only white people are racist. At least according to all the non-whites. Believe me it goes both ways. White folks at least admit it. When will the rest wake up?

"It takes two to lie--one to lie and one to believe that lie" --Homer Simpson. Similarly, it takes two to discriminate: one to discriminate and one to be discriminated against.
