One more question on abortion. Why do people who talk about the right to choose not think about that before they choose to have $ex. If you don't want to become pregnant, don't put yourself in a position to become pregnant. If you can't handle the consequences of having $ex, then don't have it.

I think many people take on the morals of their parents even while braking them. We do have the right to choose because we don't always think .we are human and are up bringing some times makes us make the wrong decisions we learn from our mistakes and i am thankful that we as woman can correct them. When we are ready to have children we will have more knowledge to direct them in the right direction.
Some times it isn't are choice to have sex either.
I am pregnant and do realize that the embryos are little people with a heart beat.but with the life i struggled with having an abusive father and a schizophrenic mother. It would of been dangerous for me to have children before I can find my self awareness.and an understanding of who i am and where i want to go.life is beautiful when you want it to be but it takes time to realize who you are and whats really right and wrong.
SO FOR THOSE PEOPLE WHO ARE AGAINST i respect you're decisions I hope you have learn ed to respect you're self.my choices that made in the past gives me the power to give my soon to be baby a better life financially and more importantly morally. Now i know how to make the right choices. and i guess i did back then as well.

I do agree with that. But, sometimes things happen. Did you know that a woman can still get pregnant with a man who has had a vasectomy. It's happened. Do you know that there have been women who got pregnant and used birth control, an IUD, condoms. So, unless people completely abstain, which will never happen, there are going to be pregnancies. These women were responsible, but still got pregnant.

What about that rape victim? While some people say the child is still innocent, I would like to ask when was the last time they were raped? And, would you want the genes of a rapist running through your child?

You're just assuming that every woman who gets pregnant gets an abortion. And, while they should be responsible, it is STILL their body.

That is a virtually impossible position to stay out of. Most young people are inundated with sex in tv, movies, books, hearing people talk...everywhere. Society basically pressures them into it. They get the idea in their head, then they find themselves alone with someone and it's all over. Some people can't control themselves when it comes to sex. Most can't in fact.

For boys and young men, they think it makes them cool. For girls, they mostly just want attention. And a lot of parents these days don't seem to take the time to talk to their kids about it. I don't know why it's such a taboo subject. It's a natural part of being human. While I don't think kids need to be exposed to it at certain ages, at some point, they need to learn the basics and what it's all about.

Most kids aren't thinking about the consequences of sex. What teenager thinks about the consequences of anything? They are mostly driven by hormones which will make them do some pretty stupid things.

I know a girl who was pregnant at 17. She was not happy with the situation she was in. Her parents were divorced (which certainly played a role) and she asked her dad if she could go live with him because she wasn't happy. He said no and that's when she started acting out. She mostly wanted to get kicked out of school. That's when she got pregnant. She knew there was a good chance that was going to happen, but she didn't care. That's not what she was thinking about. The consequences, while she was thinking about them, did not figure prominently in her thought process.

As a man, I know that ANY time I have sex I might end up with a child. Birth control or no.

No woman has ever had an abortion because of me.

So I'm doing my part to reduce the number of abortions, something everyone should be happy about.

I agree, but we know abstinence is not going to happen with kids having sex thrown in their faces on a daily basis. I do however think more needs to be taught and supported in the birth control department. Parents need to wake up.

Keeping the abortion issue out of my response, may I say that it is a woman's responsibility to keep herself safe..... It is also a man's responsibility to wrap that rascal. Pregnancy usually takes TWO....

I must say I agree with your statement/question. Abortion is murder no matter how people try to explain it to make it right. If you think you are going to be a bad person, such as mentioned in another answer, then you should have your tubes tied so you can't ruin another persons life.

You are absolutely right. I think there are cases in which an abortion should be an option. Convenience isn't one of them. If you are responsible enough to drop your pants and do it, then you da&^ well ought to be responsible enough to take of anything that may happen because of it. There are so many cheap methods of birth control that there is no excuse for not be ready to handle what happens.

I agree. If a birth control method fails, that doesn't mean you have to kill a baby. It stresses to me even more that every baby is blessing and wouldn't even be concieved if God did not intend it to be. He knows all, and for someone to take His creation and throw it back at Him, is like slapping Him in the face...but worse.

You make a very good point. I myself am against abortion. But, don't forget about rape, if your going to bring up abortion.
