Is it a broken coil spring or a strut issue or both. The car has a slight lean to it and when I jack the car up I can seen the spring is broke. Looking for the cheapest repair option as I am looking to buy a new car soon.

If you have a coil spring and a shock in the middle you don't have a strut.

I suppose if it were worth your trouble and effort you could get one from a junkyard. Make sure you use a spring compressor or you risk killing yourself.

the best bet would to get a new coil spring or strut and the best places to look are jegs or your local auto shop for replacment parts
