Bought the Clio from new, and today an orange light came on thats shaped like an engine. The car has no power, and goes juddery when I try to accelerate. It feels like theres no power.

Anyone have any ideas?

The ecm has detected a fault and has put the car into what is called limp home mode. Take it to a dealer to find out what the problem is.

Have you followed everything that was in the service schedule ?

Eg... did you have a cambelt change at whatever mileage it suggested ?

Engine warning light is not usually good... although last month my car had same problem with engine light on, juddery misfiring, and it was a simple fix of a new coil. £95 for parts and labour. Happened a week after with another coil and this time AA fixed it free and £30 for the part.

Driving with engine warning light on is not a good idea imo. You can do more damage to other parts of the car (eg you risk damaging the CAT convertor if you keep driving with a broken coil in my car)

Good luck.

Foggy is right!
Its your engine management in emergency mode!
You need someone with a fault code reader which is normally a main dealer and about £75 to find out what the problem is!
Then you have to pay to fix it!

i used to work for RENUALT and what this means is that there is an engine fault(hence the engine sign) and the juddering is the car going into 'LIMP HOME MODE'
you need to get to your nearest Renault garage or call out the AA if your car is under 3 years old
GOOD LOOK

sounds like you need to replace the Timeing Belt or Timeing chain. (Cam Belt) most of the time when a car or truck has no power it's one of 2 things bad timeing belt or chain or bed head gasket or bad head. in your case it sounds like the timeing belt cus when the timeing belt starts to brake the check Eng light comes on.

good luck
hope this helps
