I do not see why not. Just do not over indulge, the salt can cause you to retain water and that is not fun.

so here is your little sour cream question. I had to clarify for you, you answered one of my questions which referenced this one it...you assumed I was a man, Thought I would clear it up for you that I am a woman who happens to be pregnant with my 4th child. So claiming I could never understand because I am a man is quite ludicrous, all vagina here, no penis. I can understand to a point, but most of these types of questions are completely asinine. Do you actually read the questions posed or just get your panties in a bunch right away and start firing off some response that makes you look dumb? I clearly stated in the last line of me question....."do WE AS WOMEN just make things harder on OURSELVES by insisting about worrying about every single thing?"

EAT UP! :)

It should be fine if it's pasturized (which i'm pretty sure most if not all sour cream is in the grocery store!)

And don't worry about if you're eating it with potato chips or something healthy...go ahead and indulge in your craving and don't worry about people telling your to watch your weight ;)

Sour cream is fine, just make sure it's produced from ~pasteurized~ milk. Don't go overboard just because it's ok to eat it, it's still not necessarily good for you in large amounts!

There are tons of answers on here about what you can't eat during pregnancy. It boils down to no imported cheeses, no mold ripened cheeses (blues), and no raw milk cheeses. No sushi or other raw/undercooked meats/fish/eggs. No fish high in mercury: shark, swordfish, king mackerel, and tile fish go easy on tuna. No fish that may be contaminated by PCB's ect, usually from someone fishing locally. No raw sprouts. Heat lunch meats to steaming before eating, make sure processed meats (hot dogs, brats ect) are thoroughly heated through. Go easy on liver.

Good luck.

There are two answers to this question. 1. Yes, sure, there's no reason you can't have sour cream. If you're overweight, you'll want to limit your portion size in favor of something with far more nutrition in it. If you're craving fats, try avocado (or guacamole if you want dip), which has lots of healthy fats in it, and is more digestible than milk products. Eat it with some carrots and celery or other crunchy vegetable for better nutrition than fried chips 2. No. dairy products are touted as being good for you, but they are not. The pasteurization kills the enzymes that help people digest the milk, and the calcium is generally not absorbed. In fact, the country with the lowest rate of osteoporosis is one that eats very little dairy: Japan. We drink loads of milk and have a very high osteoporosis rate.

If I were pregnant again today, I'd eat lots of greens with calcium, including spinach. Stay away from eating fish, too. All fish has some level of mercury in it, and that's a danger to fetuses, far more than to adults.

There is no such thing as a silly question. You are concerned about you and your baby's health, and that is good. Sour cream is okay. You just need to stay away from unpasteurized cheeses. Such as bleu cheese, feta, and some mexican cheeses.

Of course you can! Just don't let the cravings get the best of you. You'll regret it after the baby is born and trying to loose those extra pounds.

Eat away. There's really not too many food you have to avoid. i ate the same pregnant as I did not pregnant, except I had to eat fully cooked steaks. I usually like those pretty rare.
Just don't go too wild with the food, or it will be harder to lose after the baby is here.
Congrats!☼

Sure. You need to stay away from soft cheeses, but pasteurized dairy products are fine.

yes .. all you want :)
sour cream is high in calcium ..it's actually good for you!
you can have any dairy product as long as it's GRADE A .. just steer clear of bri, fetta, blue chesse, etc.
as long as it's pasturized, you're fine.
make sure if you eat mozerella (string cheese) .. check to see if it's GRADE A .. I heard some string cheese isn't?

but yes, sour cream is just fine :)

good luck! God bless!
