are bamboo plants lucky in feng shui?

my boss has a lady putting bamboo plants all over the office. Is this for good luck or to get rid of bad luck?

many people believe that bamboo is for long life. and there is the mini bamboo like plants that many believe to be lucky in money, so they put these in homes and offices. the question is are these effective achieving their purpose, or they there just for you to have that peace of mind?

i practice fengshui, but i am also a skeptic of the things i read or i learn from th seminars i attended. i like to test them, to see whether they work or not. and in relation to this or plants. i found that every year, there are 2 location where you can put some fresh (living) green plants, then you will attract some people into your life like a social stimulation. this year (2007), the locations are east and southeast most of the house in relation to the center of the house.
