I don't really like the guy but it was quite obvious that some rather dubious people were out to get him. I guess the truth he got shot...right. Our current president didn't even serve. ( Old National Guard did not fight). I wonder will these people even attempt to begin lying about John Mccain. I remember years ago when republicans were calling Mccain racist for saying a bad word descibing Vietnamese people. You spend years being mentally and physically tortured by anyone and if that's the worst thiong that comes out of you then so be it!

Please don't lie about Mccain or believe what certain groups say when the time comes for him to run for President.

It's possible that McCain will get smeared. Bush had Karl Rove get some muck-rakers to smear him in the 2000 South Carolina primaries. They alluded to McCain being mentally unstable from his time as a POW, his wife being a drug dealer and his adopted child from Bangladesh being a bastard child from some black lover.

The sitution repeated itself in 2002, when a draft-dodger ran against triple-amputee and Democratic Sen. Max Cleland of Georgia. He ended up getting compaired to Osama Bin-Laden somehow.

In 2004 Bush had to smear John Kerry. Bush was the cowardly draft dodger going up against a real war hero. That upset the world of conservative Republicans everywhere, they are supposed to be tough John Wayne types. Some like McCain are but some obivously are not.

Before 2004 there was no real question about Kerry's brave service, the US Navy doesn't give out awards like the Silver Star just for the hell of it.

But if McCain can get out of the GOP primaries, he'll probally be ok in terms of his service record. The Democrats smear people too but not in a way that insult a man's military service.

I guess people don't remember way back when McCain defended Kerry and said "he served honorably". He knew just how wrong it was-and is-to attack veterans who served this country. McCain no longer stands for anything-he's backed off on honor and is cozying up to Pat Robertson. It's very sad that veterans only serve honorably when they behave the way they "should". So much for supporting our veterans. The first veteran to be attacked was Gore-because he was a journalist(?) This is truly sad. Any veteran getting any medal can be attacked today. Do people really think we'll get a stronger military from a new lack of free speech? Isn't that supposed to be what our soldiers fight for-freedom?

The National Guard didn't need to fight. Know why? They were busy protecting our sea border's from invaders. Our other military, Army, Navy, and Marines were doing a damn good job keeping the enemy in their own lands, and kicking the tar out them. John Kerry got shot, but it was a superficial wound, and I never heard of anyone out to get him, more like he was out to get the USA, with his lying testimony to the Congress! John Kerry only joined the military to achieve a better status for his political career, which is more than obvious. John McCain did his duty for the American People, for his country, and he suffered greatly. He stayed the course, no matter if the war was popular or not. Did John Kerry? Did he? Did he? I don't think so! First chance he got, he turned traitor. Did John McCain? Did he? Did he? Absolutely NO, he didn't. There's the truth for ya!

I know or used to know McCain pretty well, as I was from AZ and helped get him elected several times. But he is not the same McCain that he was then. He leans too much towards Bush's philosophies, and this is unacceptable.

As for the lies, Hillary Clinton has already taken her pot shots at all of the candidates.

When theres a picture of Hanoi Jane and John Kerry at the Hanoi Hotel because PolPot was such a big fan of theirs due to their protesting the war and spitting in the face of soldiers at war,it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that our enemies love the enemies within America.

Sorry, but John Kerry shot himself in the foot. He asked to be judged by his service, and he was asking for it. The Swift Boat Vetrans included men who earned the Medal of Honor, and served with more fidelity to this country than the man who betrayed his fellow soldiers with his lies before Congress.

No one lied about John Kerry. Didn't you see the ads that show Kerry in his own words denigrating the troops in Viet-Nam. Why is it that every time a liberal like Kerry is outed for his anti-American views leftist fellow travels call that evidence a lie?

They have already lied about McCain. Look up the 2000 primaries and the vile things the Bush camp spread about McCain.

In the south, they called people and polled them saying something like " Would you vote for McCain if you knew he had a black love child"

The Swift Boat Vet for Jesus are already warming up their engines.

I sorta like McCain But he is a woos. I don't like his weak stand with Bush. Even after Bush swift boated him on the Bob Jones thing McCain still acted like Step-N-fetchet.
