the likely fault is the play back format on the dvd.

what might have happened is you recored on - format, but the dvd player only play dvd & + format. OR VICE VERSA.

Look in the manual for the dvd player see the play back format, then see if the dvdr does that format, if it does then problem solved.

Hope this helps wg

Hi Lofty,

I think you need to switch formats. If you used a +R DVD switch to -R and vice versa.

Not all players are compatible with both formats. Because the DVD-R format has been in use since 1997, it has had a five-year lead on DVD+R. As such, older or cheaper DVD players (up to 2004 vintage) are more likely to favor the DVD-R standard exclusively, and when creating DVD’s for distribution (where the playing unit is unknown or older) the DVD-R format would normally be preferable.

Give the other format a try.

You probably recorded in DVD-VR mode. Record in DVD-Video mode instead. DVD-VR mode will only play in DVD players equipped to handle DVD-VR discs. DVD-Video mode will play in all DVD players.

Your DVD player (other) isn't able to codec some codes from DVD-R that's why it can't play there.
