No... they aren't artificially blind, either. They can see perfectly well - that's why they react to other bettas, because they can see them.

Not at all. My betta can see at least 3-4 foot out of his little two gallon tank. When we first brought him home he was scared, and would watch our every move. The closer you were to his tank, the more scared he was. I know for a fact he could see about 3-4 foot at least from the tank, because he would react to us standing that far away! He also knows when I step up to a specific side of the tank, to come up to the surface because he thinks it's feeding time.
I also have him now following my finger, or a pencil eraser across the side of the tank. He's slowly learning neat little things that way.
Plus, if you give a betta a mirror to look at, he will puff out and try to "fight the other fish". It's actually cool-looking to watch.

No they have great eye sight for fish. My betta are able to distinguish between my hand, and my hand with food. When they make a leap for food they go for food not the hand. (Of course they are also are known to leap out of the tank during feeding.) I suspect in the wild they take insects on the wing.

My Betta also follows me from one end of the tank to the other, he is always swimming the front length of the tank and when I sit in my chair he stops in the middle and looks straight out the tank right at me lol.

They are definitely not naturally blind!
My betta loves to follow my finger when I have it up in front of the tank and he goes crazy when he sees himself in a mirror.

No way, they are fighting fish, their vision is one of their best qualities, then need vision to fight, my betta would go insane without his vision, far from blind, but they are naturally scitzo

No, why would you think that? Do you or did you have some blind bettas?

Nope, they can definitely see. My beta follows my finger when I put it up to the tank. Also, she always looks happy to see me and swims around the tank!

No. If you put a mirror (or another male) in front of a male it will try to kill it. They can definitely see!
