with all the overcrowding in prisons, and the repeat offenders, who most of which arent violent, and the cost of maintaining the prisons and inmates, why not legalize it and give our country a rest on the wars, eh? and not even speaking about the governent controlling our bodies (im reminded of the roe vs wade argument) whats your opinion?

Most people who have drug addictions are addicted from Prescriptions after an injury, surgery, etc. One of the reasons why people who are in prison is because they received or sold prescription medications to those who do not have a prescription.

Too many people are on medications and the pharmaceutical companies are constantly advertising new drugs. Many of these medications are "habit forming" and very hard to wean off. So, legalizing these other drugs won't really make that much of a difference.

Well, I do frown on Abortion. Some drugs should be legal, yes. Mostly Enthegens(drugs with Spirtual qualities) Like Mushrooms, Mescaline, and even Grass. Even some Sythenic drugs like LSD should be beacuse it is nontoxic and nonaddictive and can give people a positive life changing experience such as spirual awaking. Heiron and cocaine should stays illegal becuase they are very dangerous and leads to crimes and stuff.

We have enough problems with the drugs that are legal. Do you realize what consequences will arise?
Think of how the crime and accident rate will go up. Are you ready for that? Are you ready to have more irresponsible people on the highways drugged out of there minds? What happens if a spaced out person kills one of your family members? How are you going to feel then?

I would rather see my tax dollars going to prison upkeep then spending it on burying my loved ones.

Look, let's just admit, plain and simple, drugs are harmful and there's no way around that fact. Human beings shouldn't put anything harmful in their bodies and the older you get the more you'll realize it. If illegal drugs were legalized, the prisons may be less crowded, but the rehabs will be bursting at the seams.

We have a higher incarceration rate than china. The land of the free? I don't think so.
And didn't we learn anything from prohibition? Like it created criminal enterprise? And in the end changed nothing because people were still drinking?
you can't create a law and suddenly expect 5,000 years of human behavior to change.

They don't have to be legalized, just go see a Doctor . The way the doctors are handing them out, it's a joke . The drug companies are paying doctors to prescribe drugs. So legally they are the pushers with a licence.
