Grafitti is a crime and NOT protected under the 1st Amendment. What makes them think they can spraypaint historic US landmarks?

Shouldn't the anti-war hippies be beaten and jailed like anyone else who breaks the law?

No and yes.

No,They should not be beaten. Just because you don't agree with someone, it doesn't give you the right to beat them. If this where true then everybody would be getting a beating on a regular basis.

Yes, People who deface others people properties should be procecuted. If you want to protest something then thats great. It is your right as an american to raise your voice. However, it doesn't give you the right to destroy. Protest should be peacefull. The moment a protester of any kind becomes violent then they become no better than the thing they are protesting against.

I am in the military and currently serving in Iraq. If these people are breaking the law, then by all means jail them up. But they have every right to protest anything they want and it pisses me off when people get treat anti- war protestors worse than any one else. I am here defending that very right and you are over there trying to take it away. Its messed up. Just like when I hear about muslims being kicked out of comunities and Americans being hateful. I am here defending everyone's rights, how do you think it makes me feel to hear that what I am doing over here is basically worth nothing at home?

Its pure stupidity... their tax dollars are going to pay to clean it up. They should be charged for the damages at minimum, why should I pay for their opinions?

When people act like that, it takes away from the argument.

No they shouldn't, and if they do they should be treated as any person in society would. The beatings were uncalled for and there shouldn't be any more. They're human beings no matter what they do.
