No. The news now is polluted with opinions and editorials from both the left and right. Even headline type of reports are almost followed by arguments from two pundits that have studied a "playbook" with talking points.

I wish CNN and FOX and the others would not have a Republican or Democrat (even the so-called think tanks are affiliated with political parties) to talk on every issue and policy being reported. All of these opinions are almost always regurgitated opinions from the base.

Just a note here: I was very impressed that Jon Stewart's rant on CNN's Crossfire caused the station to pull that program... I think it showed that elements of the news media does want to steer away from it... unfortunately, it did not last long.

Of course it is! What else could they show? Surely the public is not so addle-brained to have something as simple as propaganda actually work. With such a healthy and educated people here in the good ol' u.s of a anything but the truth is unacceptable. Who can't deny that Bush is the greatest president this country has ever seen? We've had so few casualties in the war against terror too! Something must be going right over there. Those pro war programs and commercials are incredibly well documented. I don't think the editors even can touch it.

Coming from someone who doesn't know that the word media is plural, which means the "media are" instead of the "media is," you should be less critical of what they do and concentrate more on proper English.

Let's just say you abolish all the media outlets... then what? Do you really think we would be better off? I doubt it.

Everything the media report on comes from a source. As a member of the media, I find it quite ridiculous that there are really people in this world who believe the news is tainted by fiction. Is the angle of the story skewed? Possibly. But what is reported represents facts backed by sources. Is it your belief the media fabricate stories prior to reporting them?

My advice - stay away from blogs. That's fiction.

Not really. They all have an agenda. For example, conservative media wants you to believe all our military are brave heroes, the president is not an idiot, and that this administration represents "small government." And the liberal media cannot be honest about social truth--like how blacks commit a disproportionate amount of crime compared to the population as a whole.

Please, JJ sports guy. We cannot take your answer seriously. None of the news is factual when it comes down to it. I know it would be hard to shatter the bubble around your little world, but it's time! Do you honestly hear people say "the media are"? I doubt it. Insulting someone to make a point is weak, because outside of the insult you have nothing but a blind devotion to a false reality.

and NO I dont believe hardly anything i see in the media.. I always presume there is a hidden agenda.. just look at how Fox news covered the Iraq war!!

The "Media" is out to make a buck. They could care less if the stories they report are true or not. It's all about the all mighty dollar.
