Yes isn't it terrible then women are being recognized in the work force and starting to get some parity to men's wages. They are emerging from kitchens of america and throwing off their aprons. Some ever refuse to stay home and take care of the home and they are demanding a right to education. I don't think they should be allowed out of the house nor should they vote. They should not be allowed birth control and they should be forced to submit to domestic violence and rape at the whim of their husbands. They should not be able to own any property and should be just be considered property of her father until she is married and property of her husband after that. She would not be able to make any decisions nor sign any contract without her husbands consent. She could not practice as a lawyer nor a doctor as both of these professions are unfit for females. As Bradwell vs the State of Illinois she would not be able to sign any legal contract that would be binding since her husband would be held responsible. Wow you have no idea about all the freedoms that you have because of what your "sister" fought for. In fact early feminist were also responsible for a lot of work in the civil rights movement. Educate yourself.

I think that all the talk and media references about "equality" have pressured women into thinking that they have to be just like men. We should be 100% equal as far as rights go (like being paid equally for the same work), but we have to remember that women are different in many ways--and that's a good thing! The sexes compliment each other; they aren't identical.
The most important thing about women's rights is the right to choose. Women should not feel pressured/forced to marry and have children. They should have equal education and career opportunities. But neither should women feel pressured to work when they'd rather stay at home and raise children and manage the household.
Both decisions can contribute enormously to a family's well being-emotionally, financially, and physically. Neither should be scoffed at or pressured.

Gone too far for what? The last time I noticed women were human beings just like men. Are there some freedoms men have that women should not? Like what? All people should share the same rights and freedoms - think what we want, love who we want, marry (or not) who we want, do the kind of work we want to do, have reproductive choices and freedoms, freedom of travel and movement, political choice, etc. There is no freedom that should be denied to a group of people just because they are part of an identifiable group.

God no. While I do understand that we are now capable of being independent by our own means, I still believe that women have a long way to go in overcoming the misogyny machine that is Western society.
Case in point:
Well, it was certainly headed that way, but now that women are more than happy to bend over for gangsta thugs, and be beaten and treated like dogs, I think that we can breathe easier now.
I don't know whether to laugh, cry, or puke at that statement. I'm sure all the smart women on here know what is so disturbing (in so many ways) about what he wrote.

I think its to a point where woman have such a hard choice to make now: motherhood or working/adventure. Some see it as its our job to be a mother/wife and others see it as work work work show them up. I have no idea which i want. Its a tough choice. We're SO far beyond where we used to be we're missing what mother nature had planned us to do. So I guess my answer is yes but a taste of no? But I would not change it if I could. The women before my age (24) worked to hard to get things equal. I like knowing I am equal to a man.

God created man and women to compliment each other. It is a woman's right to be equal to man in all ways. how can being the same in all areas in any way be considered "going to far"

Too far? It hasn't even gone far enough! We still have an earning gap to close, gender-based pricing to abolish, abortion rights to save, and a couplehood machine to escape.

One is either free - or they are not...one is either emancipated - or they are not. I wonder how freed American ***** slaves would have responded to your question.

It isn't far enough. Until women are free to be equal in this society.. I think we should continue to push the envelope.
