Where in NC do you want to live? I have lived here all my life in several different cities! Here are some major newspapers in larger cities:
charlotte.com (Charlotte)
newsandobserver.com(Raleigh,Durham,Chapel Hill)
reflector.com(Greenville)
wilmingtonstar.com(Wilmington)

Good Luck!

Well, I moved to North Carolina last year and it's a nice place and I love it here but you're asking to be basically set up with an apartment and a job so all you have to do is show up. These Southerners are really nice people but I don't know of any of them that are going to do all the work for you.

The first thing I'd suggest you do is some research on the state and figure out where exactly you want to live. Coastal, mountains, Triad area, etc. There are several fairly large cities here, Charlotte, Winston-Salem, Raleigh, Durham. Do you want a city or country? Lots of country here but your chances of finding work might be better in a city.

As far as finding a job, unless you have some sort of unique skill, I don't know of anyone that is going to hire you without sitting down and interviewing you first so you're going to have to arrive and go on a job search.

You need to do some research on your own and make some decisions about where you want to live, etc. Then you can start making some plans.

Which city are you looking to move in North Carolina? North Carolina is a growing state right now so your timing is good. What cities have you researched ? Are you looking at a small or large city? What type of work are you interested in? To help us out with pointing you in the right direction, put additional details in your post.

If I could offere a suggestion, I'd say move to the capital city of North Carolina which is Raleigh. Raleigh is a nice area for newcomers and it has a good school system (Wake County public schools). If you don't want to moce in the city of Raleigh, there are other smaller towns outside of Raleigh (Knightdale, Cary, Wendall, Garner) which are nice areas as well. Below are a few wesites to visits to help you with your decision. Good Luck and hope we can welcome you to North Carolina in the summer.

Stay away from Jacksonville if at all possible. Rent is decent but most of the jobs there are minimum wage. I lived there for year and moved back to texas and make almost triple what i did while living in NC. Good luck!

Jobs are not that plentiful in North Carolina. I was raised there, and now my daughter lives in the mountains. NC has property tax, personal property (vehicle) tax besides the license tag, food tax, state income tax. Probably Charlotte or Fayetteville would have more jobs. Don't lose your shirt!!! And for the best barbecue, drive to Goldsboro, Wilbur's or McCall's, but jobs are not plentiful there.
