agreed. Our troops should be used to protect the United States. A war in Iraq does nothing of the sort.

Because our troops are over in Iraq fighting and many of them get killed or seriously injured! Unfortunately, this is only a 'nonsense statement' and is not one I can 'agree or disagree with' because I happen to support both the 'war in Iraq' and the 'troops' who are fighting that war ... because they are two completely different kinds of "support" ...

Soldiers sign up to do what they are commanded to do by those who the people of the US vote into office. If the majority of the nation votes for a man who will send us to war then then I as a Soldier will go fight that war. I didn't volunteer to ask questions, I volunteered to serve the people of the United States and thats what I'm doing. Thats what all of us troops are doing. If you really want to support the troops vote for leaders who will make sure we're taken care of (ie that our salaries keep up with inflation.)

I disagree. This is a strategy to use people's guilt to get them to shut up. It's illogical. If you hate the game of soccer and your kid plays soccer does that mean that you don't support your child? Of course not.
I love our troops. I wish them the very best in their mission, however I understand that our government lied to us regarding the reasons to go to war. Therefore, I must disagree with the US involvement. I find it very interesting that the biggest "if you don't support the war, you don't support the troops" windbags all did their very best to avoid serving their country when they were called. I suppose because they were unwilling to become a soldier and decidedly against going to war themselves that they are now experts in what it means to be a soldier.

No, this isn't true, they are two separate issues. Funding for a war that shouldn't have happened in the first place, is obviously not going to the troops. They have poor equipment from uniforms to tanks, to planes, etc.. Families are buying their soldier's equipment in order to help them stay safe.
Supporting the troops is a different issue entirely.

Well, veterans are like us (liberals, conservatives...). So this veteran was probably a liberal one.
Also, one veteran DOES NOT represent the opinions of all US soldiers.

I'm not American, but my Dad is. He thinks the same as that veteran. I DON'T agree with the policy of the U.S. in this case. If you wanna know more about my position, please write me.

I see too many antiwar liberals who are not interested in victory. They don't understand the enemy we face, they don't want to understand the threat this country faces, and have the idiotic notion that if we leave the middle east alone, they will leave us alone. They are actively seeking in Congress to ensure our defeat, they actively hope for another Vietnam (which was a defeat) and they are actively seeking to weaken our nation.
So I really have little faith they support the troops.
