Meredith survived and her mother died.

It was a whole lot of hype, and nothing great. As expected, Meredith did not really die. She went from dead to fine by the end of the episode. No brain damage, no nothing. The death that was promised was her mother's. I have to admit that I am rather disappointed with that whole story. I don't know why they would kill off her mother- with the Chief being single now, I thought they would re-explore that relationship.
I don't know why they always make Meredith almost die. She was close to close to death during the episode that aired after the Super Bowl. Remember she was holding the bomb in the guy's stomach. Why not have a storyline around Izzie or one of the others? Izzie has had no good storylines since Denny died. I know most of you will say it's because Meredith is the main character, the show is named after her, etc. But, this is an ensemble show. I like some of the other characters better than Meredith. Bottom line is I am disappointed in the three episode arc. I would like to see some of the other characters used in great storylines!! I hope Grey's Anatomy has not "jumped the shark."
