i actually have an account on myspace, but i haven't checked it lately because of the viruses that it sends to the computer. i would recommend to my child that they should be careful of who they are talking to, and if they're going to get an account, to only accept those friend requests of those that they actually know, and nobody else. i think that it can be good but depending on who you talk to it can get scary.

I think Myspace is as dangerous as shopping.

If someone comes up to you in a store and asks you to come with them, you might do it and be kidnapped.
However, this is rare and those who are victims should have been taught not to follow strangers.

With some parent-child talks, all the bad things can be avoided.

There are some benefits, including:

teaching people about web design,
connecting old friends, and
communication between peers.

Myspace is as harmful/harmless as any other networking site,
The good thing about myspace is that its very open, with comments and friends being public,

I think its safer than chat rooms as you can check out the profile of who you are talking to, talk to their friends and see a lot more about them than the a/s/l you get on other sites

myspace is a perfectly safe service/website so long as you take certain precautions...such as....never give away personal details e.ge phone number, address etc. All rude/crude/harmful content is banned and blocked and removed so you child can never see anything unappropriate...depending on their age group i would suggest that the only add members of their school/class and other people they already know, and not add strangers....of course that is up to your and their own best judgement..hope this helps...
