Check out some place like Agway that sells seeds and look for *Heirloom* seeds which are seeds from plants that used to be grown generations ago but for what ever reason, aren't commonly grown anymore. I grew some awesome sweetpeas a few years ago that were the most fragrant I've ever smelled. They were from a type of sweetpea first grown by monks in the 1650s! You'll also find heirloom vegetable seeds too.

a vegetable that has a huge variety and is also extremely decorative is sweetpeas , if you look for seeds on the net youll see some amazing things , try looking for heirloom plants , they are usually most unusual. or you can try one of my favorites , the lovely rosa bianca , a form of eggplant that is gorgeous white and purple.
my favorites to use for decorations are the peas , eggplants , tomatoes , pumpkins , cherries , and sunflowers.

grow some of the newer varieties of Amaranthus. it is an anual with the most unique flowers ever. try some of these varieties: "dreadlocks" "velvet curtains" "candelabra" or the old-fashioned Victorian favorite "love-lies-bleeding". these plants are the centre of attention and real conversation pieces. They need lots of heat and sun, no fertilizing, and little water. "velvet curtains" has burgundy leaves. check out their pictures on google images.
