President Bush has had the courage to say what direction he wants to go and the ability to convince the public he should go there. He has has had no problem convincing the public that we should get involved in a pointless war, cut taxes for the rich, destroy social security, and lock people up indefinitely without trial. He has handlers who tell him what to say to appeal to the base of people who supported him. - President Bush is like a bad driver who drives his bus into a ditch - but he is still the driver. He has bad ideas but at least he has ideas.
In contrast, the Democrats have lacked courage and the ability to lead the people in a new direction. For example, they have been unwilling to come out and say specifically that we should bring the troops home by a specific date, regardless of the consequences, and they have lacked the courage to say we that we should immediately roll back all the Bush tax cuts in order to keep the government solvent and pay back the money looted from the social security trust fund, to finance those tax cuts for the rich.
The Democrats are great at coming up with new plans to spend money that we don't have - but not much else.

The only way he is smarter, but really not, because most people are on to him now, is that he has ripped this country off for trillions of dollars on a war that didn't have to happen.
