Jesus it pisses me off while people come at right here giving the incorrect concepts. Bloody Sunday became no longer a retaliation for the assinations of the British spies by employing Michael Collin's boys. The attack in Croke Park were deliberate way previously that morning.it might of got here approximately regardless. to answer your question, unquestionably i do no longer comprehend if it is going to be performed.the lads who have been speaking pertaining to to the specific Olympics made a honest factor yet I nonetheless get a humorous feeling in my abdomen while i think of roughly God shop the Queen echoing around the partitions of Croker.people shop asserting that its an afternoon of game and we ought to consistently no longer be bringing politics into it however the very fact of the project is that Bloody Sunday began out as an afternoon of game too. i think of what bothers me the main is the English having truly no comprehension of what Croker means to eire and the Irish. it is not in basic terms a soccer satdium, its the domicile of cultural eire.people sacrificed a lot to maintain our customs and traditions and Croke park embodies all of that sacrifice. The stadium is steeped in historic previous,I advise interior the aftermath of Easter week 1916 the rubble from Sackville St became used for Croke Parks foundations,I in simple terms discover it problematic to maintain politics out of this dialogue. All i can desire is that the English have fun with and appreciate the occassion and after the Queen has had her say 80'000 Irish will sing their squaddies song and pass away little question in anybodys ideas that Croke park is the domicile of the Irish united states of america.with a bit of luck after 80 minutes we could have a good extra smart reason to sing. Ar aghaidh libh láids!!!

Not insensitive but time to show some forgiveness for all the wrongs committed during that sad time. I do mean by both sides.
I feel that opening up Croke park to non Gallic sports is a good start. May the reconciliations continue.

The Irish are a lovely lot, with a national tendency to wallow in the past. Those that object to a tune being played at a meaningless sporting event will of course, not drive Japanese cars, avoid South African wine, shun German beer, and boycott Italian food. A small island, with (some) small minds, wallowing in a small world.

Hello there. If nations refuse to respect each other because of past problems, very few countries would ever meet on the field of play. Who would Germany ever play in Europe?
In this case, England should play "Abide With Me" or something similar JUST THIS ONCE as a mark of respect to the Irish. ideally though we should abandon the bloody awful dirge forever, as it is both crap and annoying. Oh, and to the Irish: get over it.
Cheers, Steve.
PS Yes, I come of Irish stock myself. To remember and grieve is fitting, to brood and foster hatred isn't.
