Age.Especially being a fast bowler,
But for the world cup he would have retired in 2006.May be he is conserving his best for the world cup in a final burst.

I doubt Glen Magrath has lost any rhytham, but one reason Glen McGrath has lost his rhythm could be the fact that Shane Warne, one of his best mates on the team, recently retired. Perhaps McGrath has lost some confidence from not bowling with a brilliant bowler at the other end. That, or perhaps he is just getting too old.

I think it has to do with the schedule
Back in the day we didn't have so many cricket tournaments but now every 2ND week we have a cricket tournament ( International)
Its just not Mcgrath, its the problem with most of the international cricketers not just Mcgrath
When u don't get any breaks and u keep on playing from tournaments from tournaments, u do get tired and u kinda loose your rhythm
same can be said about sachin, even though he is only 33 but he is playing international cricket since he was 16
in other words having too much cricket tournaments actually takes a lot of toll not only physically but mentally
and, that's the reason i think not just Mcgrath but all the cricketers loose rhythm

Ever rise has a fall to follow, every peak has a steep, every day has a night to follow, every time sun rise it has to set.
Same is happening with the legendary figure like Glen McGrath, but he is still the best bowler in the world, he is in late 30s but still more fit than some of the younger bowlers.

No cannot expect a particular players to perform at same level all the time. There will be ups and down in the carreer of of evwery player. The fact remain that Mc Grath is a class bowler most feared by any team.

I dont think he has lost his rhytham, he was rather unlucky on the nz tour that he wasnt able to stop the kiwis.
But i do think that he has lost sum of his pace over the years due to his age, but he's still a threat to any batsman, his line and length is still the same, bang on target.
