I am painting my bike and want to put a candy color on top of chrome, what can I do for adhesion to the chrome without destroying the chrome finish?

You have to scuff it. there is no other way, otherwise it will eventually peel.

Mark,
For any paint on any surface it needs to have a surface that will hold the paint. Any slick or shiny surface has to be scored or it will peal.
So without destroying all the chrome it needs say a 600 grit lightly scratched. I would try this first on an inconspicuous area before you do the whole area. Good Luck!!!

HMMM I had my Harley Air Cleaner painted to macth the bike but it wasn't with a transparent paint.
They just scratched the surface to dull it somewhat then painted it
it has been on over a year no peel

are you using that anodized stuff in a can? if so, it holds to a polished surface very well... my polished valve covers are still looking very good almost a year later, and all i did was clean em up and spray it on.
