Fast & easy. Line a glass baking pan with alumium foil. The container must be large enough to accomodate the item you wish to clean and deep enough to cover that item with water. Add 1 cup of baking soda and fill the container with really hot water to dissolve the baking soda. Submerge the item in the water. Once the item is clean, remove it and dry it thoroughly. It even removes tarnish in crevices without leaving messy cream or lotion residue. No muss, no fuss, no elbow grease and instanteous gratification.

I´m sure you think I´m some kind of sales person, wish I was for the amount of times I have written about this product , anyway I will give you the web site for this cleaner, if you do decide to visit it,click on the product Perlglanz Putzetein, This will take you to the next page where you can find the English version ,I think every household should have this product in there homes,as it dose what it say´s and that´s clean, why buy so many other product , when this one cleans them all. best thing since sliced bread I think. You might find something similar in your local hardware store or in one of the bigger shopping stores

Tooth paste works wonders and is very quick. Just put some on a soft cloth, buff and rinse. Be sure you're using a paste and not a gel as the abrisive quality of the paste is what removes the tarnish.

Don't use Brasso on your silver it leaves a film, however Silvo works wonders. Same company, different type of metal polish. Its the easiest I've found. How fast depends on how tarnished. I've also used it on jewelery.
