Lena is a bit naff these days and people (like it or not) associate it with a run down Glasgow (sorry Glasgow) housing estate. But don't be discouraged and go entirely the other way with Fifi Trixabelle Peaches etc. Named our first daughter after the midwives, who did a sterling job in the circumstances (another story, lol).

Lena, very scandinavian especially norwegian and it's pronounced Lennah..It's a nice name but as i am norwegian i am very used to it, very common, like lucy over here!
But, you wanted something that is unusual here so gof or it!

It does sound a bit 'old', and i personally don't like the way it is spelt.
Its really hard to find a nice and unusual name, and it seems to take ages!
My children are called Emilio & Sahara.
Good luck!

My mother-in-law's name is Lena (pronounced Lenah). I like that better than Leaner. Not my favorite but I don't think it's horrible.

i think its a beautiful name. it isn't traditional, but it isn't so crazy that you would get weird looks if you named a child that. plus, it seems like it could fit a child's personality well. lena. i like it.
