Is it true that a woman's cervix turns a blue or purple color when she is pregnant? Wouldn't a doctor be able to see this when doing a pap smear?

Yes, the bluish discoloration of the cervix is a well known phenomenon called "Chadwick's sign." But as the previous respondent said, it is an extremely subtle color change resulting from hormonal changes. You may also noticed a softening of the cervix (Goodell's sign), and darkening of the nipples (also from hormonal changes).

The physician may or may not notice the change. Every woman's cervix responds to pregnancy differently and the discoloration may be subtle enough to overlook.

Now that a new one.
Looks like it you fell for it.
You would have to know the color from many observations.
It does not make any sense " Why run the urine test if a quick visual was a test ". Human tissue turning blue is gangrene.
Silly nonsense !!

Yes, but it's a subtle change, not a dramatic change, and it isn't consistent.
