We had never done business with the oil company and we have a specific company that delivers oil to us and we are on a budget with them.

Your own company might of had a truck breakdown and they had another company deliver your automatic delivery.Or the driver just went to the wrong house and if they figure out the mistake they will just come and pump it out of your tank and back into thier truck.

If the delivery was not requested or authorized by anyone in the house then you're not responsible for it. However, if you rent or lease the landlord might have asked for it, in which case it was legitimate and who pays depends on your lease agreement. It would be nice, but not required, to contact the company to find out why they decided to deliver oil to you; it could be promotional or an error; but you'll also get newcomers trying to break into a new market by this kind of 'commando' delivery.

Have you talked to these people and asked them why they delivered oil to you?

My guess is that the driver got the wrong address and filled your tank and the guy down the street is probably wondering why he has no oil. However, you are not responsible for their error. If you didn't ask them to deliver then I would say you just got yourself a free tank of heating oil.

If they bill you for it, I would call them and tell them it was their error and I would not pay it.

No, not if you have your own company. You need to call this company and ask who authorized them to deliver the oil, then go from there.
