I still always carry some change and at least $10 in cash, a lot of places here don't accept credit cards.

i don't carry cash hardly at all anymore and when co workers ask for some change i never have any, which is a good thing. i just carry my check card and that way i avoid the vending machines too.

I do not use a bank card such as a "debit card"... never have.
I always have cash and change on me. The credit card is for my business and large purchases only so I can accumulate miles on my card for free trips.
