I fell last Wednesday, the 14th, after a bad ice storm we had here in MD. I slipped down 8 brick steps. My back, tailbone, head everything was hurt. It hurt as expected worse over the next 3 days. Then was feeling a lot better. 2 days ago my back starting bothering me again. Everytime I sneeze or sit the wrong way or bend down to far it hurts. How much longer should I give my back time to heal? Or to schedule an appt with my doc?

See your doctor. I did the same thing. I found out I have a broken collar bone and can't work for at least 6 weeks :(

If the pain is pretty bad, and is more like nerve pain (sharp, shooting), you should see the doctor. It's possible that you got your spine out of alignment or in some way damaged a nerve. The doc can do an MRI to make sure nothing is wrong other than inflammation from the injury.

If the pain is not very severe, and is more like muscle pain (ache, tightness), you can probably wait a week or so, and try alternating heat and cold to encourage healing. If there is still no change, or it gets worse, go to the doctor then.

I would schedule an appointment with your Doc. if it's nothing to bad at least you could get pain meds to get rid of the pain while it does heal. Good luck.
