Is it really worth upgrading or should I just save up for a 8800?

FYI NVidia released the latest 8800 Vista drivers on the 20th -- my co-workers have them and have been talking about it :)

I think I will just stick with the 7300 for now...it is still a lot better than the card i am currently using :P

Considering the fact that the 8800's are much better cards than the 7900gs and the rate that their price is dropping, I would wait and save up for the 8800.

I personally have the 7900gs and it is a great card, but with the 8800 640Mb card at less than $400 and dropping. Not to mention the DX10 support, the 8800 is a good thing to save up for.

Save for the 8800 (note no good drivers for Vista yet...), if you want to save a little money you can opt for the 8800GTS with 320MB of memory which will cost right around $300. Or you can wait for the 8600 or 8300 series (I would avoid the 8300 series). They will be $200 or under.

As it stands now ATi has the best Vista drivers so I would get their X2600 or X2800 series when they come out.

im not sure. compare the specs side by side. Most importand is what is the bandwith, 64,128? a 128 with process information twice as fast as a 64. Then id look at the core frequency, then the memory frequency. You want as high as possilbe for those numbers. 400 and up. Then compare the prices.

the 8800 is a much better card with DX10 support, so i would say save for it.

As reported via know-how dice Tomshardware's vga charts supply you with a solid assessment. yet on the subject of those 2 taking part in cards its %. your poison btw saying a card is extra useful "cuz it has extra ram on it" is like saying my motor vehicle is swifter reason it has an superior gasoline tank
