solar and wind don't.. as well as fuel cell I believe.. nor would hydrogen if they could ever perfect it.. ethenol and what not do produce some CO2, you are correct.. but no where near as much as fossil fuel... maybe they should call them "cleaner" fuels

I do believe global warming is occurring. The cause is people. You get rid of the people and Mother Nature will take care of the problem. *LOL* But then it may be Mother Nature who takes care of getting rid of the people to cure the problem.

I don't know what you have been reading but those renewable fuels still produce CO2 when burned, and that is pollution.

The technology is a wonderful thing if it can fulfill the role better than existing technology. Take ethanol for example, wonderful replacement for standard gasoline, but if there isn't a pump nearby your house, you're screwed. In that case, it can't do what gasoline does: be readily available so you can drive your car. If the technology costs more, you aren't going to appease big business, they will do everything in their power to drive down costs, even if that means using less environment friendly fuels and methods.

These trade-offs are important, something many environmentalists care little about, they just want 'better' things in place that help the environment, that is their only goal.

No one is for dirty air and dirty water. Despite what environmentalist dogma, America cleans up their messes better that any country in the world. If you are really concerned about the environment, attend college, learn as much as you can from the sciences, and jump in. We could always use new technologies to improve our environment.

Sure - but the consumers should make those decisions and that's what the market allows them to do. You propose to use the force of government to make those decisions for us. That's our beef with you.
