Check out Gateway. My laptop fits all that criteria except that it has an ATI video card. It only cost me $599 at Best Buy during their Columbus day sale.

That's a whole lot of computer to find under $1000. You should be able to find something like that for less that $1500, but I don't think you're going to find a new one with those specs for under $1000. Check Dell and HP.

Check out newegg...found one that pretty much meets the criteria for just under 1000

If you can find one,the HP dv6119 has 15.4" screen. nvidia Geforce with 256k video ram and 80 G hard drive I got mine at circuit city for $699 after rebates.Originally it was $999.It also has dual layer dvd drive with lightscribe

difficult to do for 1k, try www.dell.com might be your best bet.
