NOT the remix by Delerium, the original version. She performed it at a concert i went to and i know it's been recorded but it's not on any of her albums, cause I have em all.

And it's fruitless looking on LimeWire or places like that as all I'm bombarded with is the remixed version.

Anyone help???

My searching finds that it is Delerium's song, and it features Sarah McLachlan on vocals. According to Wikipedia: "In 2000, McLachlan co-wrote the Delerium song "Silence" and provided guest vocals. This song achieved a modest amount of top 40 airplay and was also part of the soundtrack for the movie Brokedown Palace."

Scroll down to the Singles chart, and you'll see that The original Silence was on Delerium's album "Karma," but It was the "Silence 2004" remix that hit the #1 dance track in the U.S.

"The original album version and subsequent radio edit of the song had a much slower tempo than the more well-known remixes and was essentially structured like a pop song, with the characteristic synthetic instrumentation of the more melodic side of ambient music — though including darker overtones, such as the prominently featured Gregorian chants."
(The Wiki page for the song says it was originally released in 1999, so there's a bit of an inconsistency there…)

There are MANY remixes out there, so maybe the one you are thinking of is a less popular version. You can preview about a dozen of them on iTunes - just use the search words: silence delerium

If you aren't remembering the original version, try one of the Michael Woods remixes - they seem less techno/dance sounding. Web Search: silence michael woods mp3

Good Luck!

Hi

I downloaded a version from limewire which was very slow, melodic and chantlike. Is this the one?? It took me ages to find it!!!! If it is log onto limewire tomorrow afternoon/evening and browse my files, you can get it from there. My username is fideonaan. You'll have to wait until tomorrow as I am at work this evening and I'm not sure what folder it is in!!!

Happy searching.
