You are right, they don't have any money, save that which they screw out of us. Labour governments always believe in big government, tax and spend. This one has increased the size of the public sector, therefore, cleverly increased the number of people dependant on it, as well as a massive increase in that other group dependant on government, those on benefits of various kinds. All bought and paid for and they can now depend on their vote.
There is another huge downside, the Public Sector is inherently inefficient, because it has no competition, is unionised, is politicised, is bureaucratic and riddled with inertia and devoid of innovation.

the government does waste money. more than anyone else in existence. An example would be our military budget. It is as big as all the military budgets of all the other countries in the world combined.... can you imagine how much waste there must be in that budget. We can still be a super power without spending that much if the money is spend wisely and there are not companies that are cheating the government without the government caring or contributing to it.

We currently are not well represented.
Please help to establish a large, diverse, & "representative" ethical oversight committee for managing the National Security Agency (NSA)
The National Security Agency (NSA) by necessity currently collects information from ALL organizations without representative ethical oversight. This includes the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, National Guard, ALL Political Representatives, FEMA, Greenpeace, the Medical Community, Insurance Companies, Research Groups, domestic or abroad, ...
Unfortunately, special interest groups not representing All Americans currently have access to direct and use Confidential data collection; which affects everyone, not just the US. Imagine large corporations influencing the prosperity of businesses based upon racial criteria; the NSA makes this possible.

The NSA currently does not have a system (people and software) to parse the great amounts of information available to create prioritized situational awareness for the benefit of "representative ethical oversight". Imagine a corporation influencing all that is associated with a University research project, to force access, or force a sale of intellectual property at a significantly lower cost. Now expand the ability of this corporation to influence all businesses, everywhere.
Please support my initiative to establish a large and diverse representative ethical oversight committee for monitoring and managing the NSA.

The government just closed a major factory here and they said it will save the taxpayers £40 million a year..
..So wheres my share..?
The only thing they do with it is waste it on pet projects as far as I can see.
If the things they do, 'save' taxpayers money...where is it.?
I don't see any drop in taxes...just increases and more taxes.
And...its NOT government money...the government does not have any money.
Its TAXPAYERS money.
Btw...its 1500 people out of work.
I would rather they spent the £40 million keeping them in jobs for all the good it does us.

Knowitall says that closing a factory will save taxpayers £40 million pounds and asks about his share. There are approx 60 million people in this country so he should expect to get somewhere in the region of a £660,000 payout in the near future along with all the rest of us.

Thats the same reasoning they use with a "surplus" as in they think the government can have a "surplus" when that money really belongs to the people and the people have a "surplus."
ANd when surplus occurs, there should be a rebate to the tax payers instead of an increase in programs.
