I've signed up for free samples from websites such as dove, folgers, swiffer, and sarah jessica parker lovely perfume. Should I expect junkmail? If so, when? It's been about three weeks since I requested the samples.

I sign up for free samples and so far, have been able to avoid junk mail by:

1. sticking with recognized manufacturers and retailers own sites

2. only signing up w/ manufacturers & retailers that offers an opt-out button and checking it

3. avoiding suspicious websites (i.e. lots of pop ups, offers a brand name product but is not affiliated with manufacturer, does not offer opt-out, requires participation or wants to download something but it is not clear up front, etc.)

BTW, I have an alternate e-mail address just for newsletters, retail sale notices, etc.

It sounds like you signed up for samples directly from the manufacturers' websites so you should be okay.

By doing this you give away your personal information. That is never worth it.
You can get junk mail in your post office box and by email. Never give out an email address to people you do not know. They can even sell this address and you will be getting junk from all over.
Another thing, is that these companies want to see what products you may be interested in buying. Like soap, haircare, body wash, makeup and then they give this direct information to other companies. You are now a target. Lets say you got a sample of soap. Now all the soap companies will be trying to sell their product to you. Tons of junk mail will show up.
Stay away from samples, pop-ups and other solicitaions. It is really not worth the tiny sample or free product you will recieve.
It is much better to go to the companies website and ask for a free sample sent to you but do not give your email to them.

I get free stuff all of the time. You just need to have a junk email that you send all of that stuff to. But I have got great free samples of all sorts of new items that have not reached the market yet. This is a great site for free goodies, check it out

"Will I get a bunch of junkmail if I sign up for free samples online?"

What do YOU think?
Didn't anyone ever tell you that there is no free ride?
That you never get something for nothing?

Trust me - you'll be spammed.
