Buy a fingernail brush, specifically made for this purpose. Once you have them clean, scrape your fingernails over a bar of soap and wipe the excess off. The soap that remains under your nails will help prevent dirt from building up under there next time..

Should have said what kind of job you have. But here goes. We have diesel mechanics in the family. Sometimes they wear gloves like surgical gloves. They hated them at first but they said in no time it worked out. Just a matter of getting used to them. Also someone said that if you put vaseline on your hands before you jumped into it, then the cracks and things in your hands got filled up with that instead of the dirt. So when you washed, the bottom layer was clean stuff. For the most part it worked. Also when the guys needed to come clean like for a wedding or something, they would soak in a hot tub of salt water. That stuff eats everything away. Came out pretty good looking. They were white anyway. Good luck. Hope this helps.

first if you don't have the time to saok your hands then take a bath and not a shower, while you are in the tub, try to keep your hands down in the water and let them soak that way. also use a fingernail brush on them and get a regular fingernail file with the point on the end and clean them out that way...

Oranges hand soap/wash. Its an "industrial" cleaner, meant for people who get dirty at work, be it engine grease, demolition dust, paint... what ever. All the labouring men I know swear by it. From under the nails you might want to use it with a nail brush. For REALLY bad stains, you can soak your fingers in a 1:10 bleach solution. My sister does that if she gets hair dye on her nails when she does her hair, works good.

well the way my father cleaned his finger nails ,and trust me he was a hard working man as I sure you are , you would think he´d been helping the moles digging there holes. he used to clean them with starch , most of the time he would use the water from the potatoes, you know when you peel the potatoes and leave them in the water until you need them. when you empty the water out there a lot of starch , well with this he cleaned his nail´s and a small nail brush . got them clean

could be that you are not paying attention to what you are doing. exploding ink pens could be the problem. You would be susprised wash and lotion your hands often then apply lotion, use green sticks (from the beauty supply shop) to clean under your nails and keep them cut short (remember to cut them straight across (if not sure get someone to show you the proper way to care for them including toe nails) keep them buffed and the edges filed. you will have attractive hands and nails in no time. :)

Put about a half cup of bleach into your dishwater,by the time they are washed your nails are clean. This also takes care of a lot of bacteria on your dishes. Really works for me {toolmaker}

Claw them into a semi-wet bar of soap and then proceed to finish your shower or bath. My grandfather used a special brush, but I think the soap works better!
