There is ne screen in you tank for one there is a roll over valve which is no more than a small plastic ball, either the vent hose is kinked on the filler neck or the vacume valve on the actual gas station pump is at fault. hth

Try a different pump or gas station. Some gas pump nozzles are more sensitive that others for the auto shutoff and some vehicles have a sharp bend in the filler pip that causes a splashback on the nozzle that tends to trigger the shutoff. You may have to get used to letting the gas sort of dribble in. If you buy your gas at the same place, you can talk to the managed and they may be able to have a pump technician adjust the sensitivity of the nozzle.

There is a screen inside your gas nozzle so nobody can siphon from your gas tank. This is dirty. You can also ease up on the flow.

sounds like it might be a bad gas pump.try a different station. They shut off when fumes get near the top. make sure you are inserting it fully. try pumping slower.... that almost sounds dirty.
