You'll need a very matte face...put on a full face of foundation, and then powder on top of it. Then, put on just a little bit of blush (try a bright pink)...suck in your cheeks, and put it on the hollows. Blend it up towards your hairline. Then, take a white eyeshadow (try for one without shimmer) and put a little bit underneath your eyebrows. if your brows are sparse, fill them out with some eyeshadow that matches your brow colour. Take a dark eyeliner and put a thick line just on the top lid, and flick it out a little at the end. Take a bright blue eyeshadow, and put just a dab on the top lid, and if you want dramatic, then a little to line your eyes underneath. Put on lots of mascara, because the formulas weren't as good back then...they clumped alot more. Finally, choose a deeper red lipstick. Again, make sure it is a matte formula...they didn't really shimmer or gleam back then. Powder your lips and put the lipstick over top, and then blot it off. Voila. You're from the 20's.

My mother was born during this period of time and she has shared a lot with me about makeup during that time. The majority of women wore powder makeup and red lipstick was the thing. It was bright red lipstick and the powder was close to skin tone however because of the lack of substance for the makeup the variations were very small. As result many women of different skin tones did not have a good match, as result the makeup was very obvious. I found some information on the web by selecting makeup and then selecting the 1920"s. There is not a lot but some information is available. Also you can turn that around, select the 1920's then select makeup.

Flappers had very dark eye shadow all the way to their very thin brows. Lipstick was dark with an attempt at giving a bow- like appearance.
Sorry, I don't know of any makeup sites. I'd also search sites for old movies such as the original King Kong and films with Rudolph Valentino and Charlie Chaplin .

The makeup was dark and very heavy on pale skin.
Look under flapper behavior in this link
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flapper
Also even though this site is for flapper style wigs the make up is that the models are wearing is close to the way they really wore it.

Red lipstick, pale complexion (which was popular in those days), strong blush, very thin eyebrows...
Take a look at the cartoon chararcter "Betty Boop"...it is a good way to get an idea of the look of the 20's....

One thing I can think of is make sure you really emphasize her brows. Use an eye pencil to make them look darker and fuller. I'll look for some pictures and if I find them I'll come back and post them for you. Good luck!
