cos i have applied for 256 kbps but i m thinking i m not getting it.

Go to www.speedtest.net and it will check your upload and download speeds, just select the server location closest to you. It will also keep a record of previous checks so you can find when the net is least busy for downloading large files.

It's best to take the online speed tests rather than using any software. (Search to find the many different free programs available at download.com, softpedia.com, etc.)
