My guess is if it is that loud they know it and don't care! They may like that idea! You could try a note though, but it won't be anonymous they will figure it out, so be prepared!

To avoid possible embarassment on both your parts, a friendly note may be the way to go. Without being rude state simply that the walls and floors in the apartment are a bit thin/hollow and so while you can appreciate the fact that they can't keep their hands off one another (what is your secret?) could you try maybe moving your lovemaking to the sofa every now and then so you can get some sleep!
Even better send them a note thanking them because since you're awakened at night by their bed squeaking, you have no choice but to try to get yours squeaking too!

Talk to your landlord. Tell him or her that there is just too much noise coming down from the room above your bedroom. Tell him that you know it can be an embarassing topic and that perhaps the best solution (since this will probably never change, no matter who the occupants, unless they are elderly renters and even then, who knows?) is to have thick wall to wall carpeting installed. He can have that done, at his expense. It doesn't have to be expensive stuff.
If that fails, then ask him if you can have some insulating material installed on your bedroom ceiling.
Give your neighbors the benefit of the doubt. At least they are not loudly screaming or moaning. They probably would be mortified... and have to pass you in the hall from time and time so it would be always 'there' that you kept track of their sex life.

That's a tough one. In Louisiana, it's against the law to have your television or radio playing loud after 10:30 but even the police can't be called because sex is too loud. You can only ask or write the person making the noise and hope for the best. I had this problem once. I called the landlord and they told me to call the police. The problem escalated until I finally just moved. No more problem!

I would actallythink that leaving an annonymous note would make them be a smart butt and become even louder unless they know that its bothering neighbors. How about contactingthe landlord and having him deal with it. Or leave a not on the door and put the land lords name on it HA! After a couple times of leaving notes on the door and signing off as neighbor(s) and they keep doing it... complain to the landlord every time... I mean EVERY TIME>>> he will get tired of the complaints and will not want to renew their lease or may evict them..... make it simple... dear guys, Its quite disturbing that we can hear you having sex. We would prefer not to have to hear you is there any way you can tone it down a bit if not i will have to file a complaint with the police and the landlord under disturbing the peace. ;o)e

Two Words: Anonymous Note.
Leave one on their front door explaining that although you are happy for both of them, that the rest of the floor/building is trying to get some sleep/concentrate whilst they are...well...not sleeping and shaking the foundations.
They may find it really embarrassing that others can hear them and stop altogether!
If they don't, just keep an adult move sountrack around and play it while they're at it.

You could try that but if it doesn't work then you will need to face them and they will know it was you who left the anonymous note. I think it is better just to knock on their door, introduce yourself, and say that you live downstairs and can sometimes hear what goes on in their apartment, especially in the bedroom since it is right above yours, etc.
Maybe suggest getting a rug or a platform bed...

If you feel brave enough you may politely introduce yourself and explain just what you said, that your bedroom is under their's and you can hear their lovemaking sessions.
Or to spare them (and yourself) embarrassment you can leave a note on the door in a sealed envelope or under the door might be better.
They may not know what is happening and will be mortified or they may not care since they are consenting adults.
Ask yourself, if you were in their shoe would you want to know? Sounds like you would and they might too.
Hope it goes well and the problem is fixed.

A note is a good idea, just be sure to let them know that they are loud and keep you up at night, they most likely will be so embarrassed they will not do it for along time.
