Take some Airborne, stay away from sugary juices, drink Gatorade or Pedialite, Hot Teas with Honey.
I personally think that going to the Dr's for a cold is a waste of time. Sometimes taking antibiotics is not the best thing you can do. Your body needs to learn how to fight Cold/flu bugs on its own.
The Human Body is a miraculous thing!!!

- Any type of soup with broth is good. I eat Chicken Ramen Noodles when I have a cold and it works well.
- Vicks works well, but Mentholatum (sp?) works really well too. It has the consistency of Vasoline, so you may not want to put it on before work. But whenever I have a cold, I put it under my nose before I go to sleep and it helps me breath 1,000X better. Even when you are bumming around during the day, you can put it on
- Drink LOTS of water, juice, and warm lemon water with honey
- Try to avoid dairy products (that's what I have been told)
- If you have a scratchy throat, try gargling salt water
- Vitamin C helps A LOT!! During cold season, I take 1 Vitamin C every day because it helps to prevent colds, too!
I attached a REALLY good article from the Mayo Clinic, one of the top clinics in the nation. It talks about what works and what doesn't.
Good luck!!

Go to Wal-Mart or the drugsore and buy some Emergen-C. It is 1000mg of Vitamin C plus a ton of other vitamins. You mix it in water, tastes good and it gives you energy. I just had a cold and used that for the first time. I tried the Raspberry flavor - tastes like a fizzy soda. My cold was completely gone within 24 hours and I didn't feel like crap at work. I too prefer natural remedies.

Read the earth clinic website. It has tons of information on how to treat anything. I know apple cider vinegar in water is a great cold remedy.

Try steam inhalation with a few drops of Eucalyptus oil added to the water. Also take hot milk with a little pepper (powdered) added to the milk.

Drink some orange juice and have a hot bath. If you have time to go get some epsom salts and herbs, you can have a bath that will help clear your head and chest, by inhaling the vapors.

Boil citrus peels and inhale the steam. Works for me all the time.
If you have a desk job, just put a steaming cup of water with a citrus peel in it on your desk and inhale the steam.

There is a natural echinacea syrup that always helps me called Echinamide. It's thick and doesn't taste very well, but I always get over my cold much sooner when I take it. You can generally find it at most health food stores.
